McGowan so proud of Dark Blues
Nevertheless, McGowan feels there is plenty to be pleased about after making it two successive draws, having also earned a point against the Buddies before the international break.
He said: ‘We showed great character.
“I don’t think anyone would have given us a chance at 2-0 down.
“It could have been a doing but we were actually playing quite well and the draw was deserved.
“Everyone in the team was magnificent.
“To come back from two down at Easter Road, given how the season has been going, speaks volumes.
“There are not many times that I have praised us this season but we deserve every bit of praise going because a draw was the least we deserved.
“We could have gone under there given the position we are in but I was so proud to be part of this performance.
“The lows have been very low – there’s no getting away from that.
“Some of our performances have been way off it for a professional football team.
“We get paid good money to play football but we’ve been miles off it. I am talking about the full team.
“We have not been good enough but we have turned a wee corner and we are going in the right direction.”
Dundee manager Jim McIntyre feels that his side are beginning to gain momentum.
“We’ve got good players, we can’t doubt or feel sorry for ourselves when we go behind,” he said.
“I’ve been seeing on a daily basis that we’re getting better and better and taking on the information that we’re giving them.”
