Blue Brazil won’t treat bottom dogs lightly

-

Cowdenbeath head to Albion Rovers with the chance to open up a 16-point gap on the bottom placed side.

However manager Gary Bollan is warning the Blue Brazil players that their opponents will be no soft touches.

Bollan said: “We have won four out of last six league games which is a decent run and has us looking up the way and not down, but we cannot take anything for granted.

“It will be the first home game that Kevin Harper has been fully in charge of Albion Rovers for and that could cause us problems.

“He was appointed just before they played Edinburgh City three weeks ago, so he will want to show his new club the results of the work he has been putting in during training. They need wins and we will need to stand firm to ensure that they do not get one.”

The Fifers are heading west in good spirits after a 2-0 midweek success over visitors Queen’s Park that took them to within four points of fourth placed Annan.

Bollan added: “We played well and deserved to win. Scoring a couple of goals and keeping a clean sheet is always a good night’s work, however we have to be mindful that we were well on top during the first half and never scored.

“We missed easier chances than the ones we scored from so there is always room for improvement. We are reaching a consistent level of performance however we cannot think that we no longer need to work at things.

“Having put a good run together we now need to try and maintain it, but our approach is still all about taking one game at a time.”

Martin Scott remains out through injury but Jordyn Sheerin, who was ill and missed out in midweek, could return.
