Game is already a ‘must-win’ for Dee, says striker Miller

Dundee striker Kenny Miller believes the visit of Hamilton is a “must-win” fixture for the Dark Blues.

The Lanarkshire side’s 3-1 victory over St Mirren on Saturday led Miller to stress the importance of tonight’s game.

The 38-year-old said: “There has been two positive performances that could have turned a point into three.

“So it is important against a team around us that we don’t get cut too much adrift. So three points, it kind of falls into the category of a must-win game for us.

“It is important that we build on what we have been doing of late, particularly the St Mirren and Hibs games.

“If we keep playing at the same intensity and tempo that we have done in the last few games then I don’t think that win will be too far away and hopefully it will be on Wednesday night. It is an opportunity to close that gap on Hamilton with a game in hand. It gets you back into the mix.

“We need to make sure we do the right things and give ourselves the best possible chance to win a game.”

The former Celtic and Rangers player, who has scored in both Dundee’s last two games against St Mirren and Hibernian, said: “I am looking forward to the game.

“It is a big month, there are a lot of games and a lot of points up for grabs so hopefully this can be the start of us turning the corner and climbing the table.

“There are seven games between now and the shutdown. Tough games. It is one game at a time but we need to stay in touch.

“It is imperative that we are not too far adrift come January.”
