Caravan parks to be inspected by fire officials following deaths

-

Safety reviews are to be carried out at caravan parks across Fife over the coming weeks following the deaths of two people in Stirling earlier this month.

Local senior officer Roddie Keith said fire personnel would be visiting facilities throughout the region in the wake of the tragedy on February 3.

Neighbours of Tom and Pam Young, who were both in their 60s, battled to try to save the couple after flames engulfed the residential caravan at Wallace View Caravan Park in Stirlingshire. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service wants to ensure safety standards are fully up to scratch at static and residential parks.
