Drivers urged to plan ahead as M90 roadworks get under way

-

A £240,000 project to upgrade part of the M90 near Perth will get under way tomorrow night.

Resurfacing work will be carried out on the M90 northbound, at the Craigend interchange, over five nights.

The project is separate to £315,000 of work planned for the Barnhill interchange, which was postponed from earlier this month.

Bear Scotland said work will begin tomorrow from 7.30pm on the M90 Craigend northbound off-slip towards the Broxden roundabout.

Motorists heading north are warned that the M90 junction 10 off-slip will be closed until 6.30am. Work continues on Monday and Tuesday on the M90 northbound, towards Dundee. A contraflow system will be put in place.

The final stage will begin on Wednesday for two nights. It will see the northbound M90 closed between junction 10, with traffic redirected to the Broxden roundabout and back to the M90 southbound, towards Craigend.

All work will be finished by 6.30am on Friday.

Andy Thompson of Bear Scotland said: “This essential £240,000 resurfacing project will greatly improve and strengthen this busy section of the M90, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

“Safety is our top priority and the various traffic management arrangements are required so that our teams can complete the works as quickly and safely as possible. However, we’ve taken steps to keep motorist disruption to a minimum by carrying out the resurfacing overnight.”

Mr Thomson thanked motorists for their patience in advance and urged them to plan ahead.
