Residents urged to attend Cross Tay Link Road exhibitions
The public will get the chance to help finalise plans for the Cross Tay Link Road at a series of consultation events later this month.
The latest proposals for the massive infrastructure project will go on show at four sessions in Luncarty, Scone, Coupar Angus and Perth.
It will be an opportunity for residents to check out the most up-to-date designs for the £113 million scheme, and offer feedback.
Comments will be used to shape a planning application that is expected to be submitted by lead consultants Sweco UK before the end of the year.
Dates have been confirmed for public exhibitions at Luncarty Memorial Hall on August 21; the Robert Douglas Memorial Hall, Scone, on August 22; Coupar Angus Town Hall on August 27 and Perth’s Civic Hall on August 28.
Each event will run from 2pm to 7pm.
Perth and Kinross Council, which is leading the project, has stressed that comments made to Sweco about the project at this stage will not be viewed as representations to the planning service.
“There will be an opportunity to make representations to the council when a formal application is submitted,” a spokesman said.
The long-awaited scheme, which is backed by £40m of Scottish Government funding, aims to cut city centre congestion and air pollution by building a new road from the A9 to the A93 and A94 north of Scone. It involves a new bridge over the River Tay.
There has been controversy over the chosen route, which will cut through a new 700-property housing estate at Scone.
