Luncarty and Port aim to bounce back

-

Luncarty travel to Downfield on the back of a surprising Super League North defeat in midweek at Scone Thistle after beating champions Lochee United last weekend.

Manager Jonny Kelly is without Robbie Holden and Richard Doig through injury while Michael Patton has joined Coupar Angus on a short term loan.

Tayport travel to Strathmore Park to face Forfar West End after a disappointing defeat at home to Kirriemuir Thistle in midweek.

Manager Chris McPherson had no complaints after the midweek defeat as his side looked off the pace against a sharper Thistle side. Tayport expect to have the same squad on duty that lost in midweek for the trip to Angus.

Scone Thistle, meanwhile, were soundly beaten last weekend at Carnoustie, going down 6-0.

However Derek Lawson’s men bounced back in midweek to beat Luncarty 2-1 and will be looking for more of the same against Broughty Athletic at Whitton Park.

Lawson expects to have the same squad available as in midweek, only absentee is Craig Mitchell who is on holiday.

Thornton Hibs are one of four teams with six points from their opening two Super League South games and Craig Gilbert’s side will be looking to make it nine points when they visit Volunteer park to face Armadale Thistle.

Hibs won 2-1 at Kennoway last weekend and then beat Whitburn 3-2 in midweek at home.

Gilbert has Matty Robertson back from suspension along with Chris Ireland and Ian Shanks returning from holiday.

Lochore Welfare have had two tough games to begin life in the top flight but manager James Adam will be disappointed with the way his side threw away the lead in midweek against Pumpherston.

This weekend sees the Fife men welcome Harthill Royal to Central Park. Adam expects to have the same squad available with Kearyn Hicks serving the final game of a two-game ban.

Kennoway Star Hearts travel again, this time to Whitburn who have lost their opening two games against Fauldhouse and Thornton. The Treaton Park men travel with the same squad as in midweek with the addition of new signing Craig Wallace.

Blairgowrie boss Mark Brash was pleased and disappointed in equal measure in midweek as his Premier League North side conceded a late equaliser to East Craigie at Davie Park.

Coupar Angus have added Michael Patton on loan from Luncarty for today’s game with Violet.

Kirkcaldy & Dysart’s Premier League South game at Sauchie in midweek was postponed so the Fife side couldn’t build on last weekend’s 1-0 win over West Calder United. This weekend they take on new boys Syngenta at Denfield Park.

Newburgh manager Scott Hudson will be hoping his troops can keep their great start going as they host Stoneyburn at East Shore Park. The Fife side are two from two so far.

It’s a Fife Derby at The Fleet Grounds as Rosyth take on Lochgelly Albert.

The visitors are yet to take a point while Rosyth drew with Linlithgow Rose before going down 2-1 at Newburgh in midweek.

Albert will be without Derek Murray, Ryan Hughes, Declan Boyle, Sanjay Kumar, Byron McGuigan and Wes Lockwood.
