Support and advice on offer at care and wellbeing event

-

The Care and Wellbeing Co-operative is co-hosting a free event today highlighting care in Highland Perthshire.

The group of rural Perthshire-based self-employed carers, professionals, therapists and wellbeing specialists will hold the event in Aberfeldy Town Hall this afternoon.

The drop-in event, named How Does Highland Perthshire Care, is being organised by the Care and Wellbeing Co-operative in conjunction with Rural Wisdom and Support Choices, a new group based in Dunkeld.

A number of groups and organisations from Highland Perthshire will be at the event providing advice and information on the range of care and support options that are available, as well as how to be part of providing care and support in the area.

There will be advice on help with finance and accessing benefits, community activities and services, who can provide care, looking after your physical and mental health and much more.

Working alongside communities, the Health and Social Care Partnership, private care providers and voluntary sector groups, the Care and Wellbeing Co-operative, which was set up in 2015, aims to support people, in particular older people and those with additional needs and health problems, to lead the life they want in their community.

Co-ordinator Donna Murray-Trail said: “Care tends to be something that people think about when there is illness or disability.

“It’s often at a point of crisis, so having information in advance can be very helpful.”

The event will run from 10am to 4pm.
