Rupert rides away with riband

Shetland stallion is crowned champion

The stylish Kerloch Rupert, John Watson’s multi award–winning standard Shetland stallion, won the Central Scotland Shetland Pony Group summer show at Caledonian Marts, Stirling.

Rupert, by Stow Review and out of Burnbank Veda, is from the Jedhart Stud at Jeburgh.

In reserve supreme place was Stelhoneyb­ee of Transy from the Transy Stud, Devonshaw, Dollar, handled by Sarah Ross. Stelhoneyb­ee is by Beech of Transy and out of Stelalp of Transy.

The Staffa of Netherley Trophy was won by the Jedhart Stud for Jedhart Haldor and the Kinness Salver was won by the Transy Stud for Cathkin of Transy.

Reserve overall in–hand champion was Milday Ruby from J. Lawrie; reserve in–hand junior champion – L.M Wilson with Myreton Glory; ridden champion – Struie Polly from N Marshall ridden by Rebecca Davis; reserve ridden champion – Harviestou­n Rhuri ridden by Anna Marshall.

Best Foal – J. Lawrie with Milday Rosella, best gelding – A. Marshall with Harviestou­n Rhuri.

Champion young handler – Amy Hogg, reserve – Anna Marshall. The Kinness Salver – Transy Stud, Cathkin of Transy.

Open Standard Black champion – Jedhart Stud with Kerloch Rupert, reserve Transy Stud with Cathkin of Transy. Junior champion – Transy Stud with Stelhoneyb­ee of Transy, reserve – Jedhart Stud with Jedhart Haldor. Novice Standard Coloured champion – Jedhart Stud with Supreme Calamity Jane.

Open Standard Coloured champion – M & E Warren with Clibberswi­ck Lancelot, reserve – L. M. Wilson with Birchmoor Delight.

Junior Champion – L. M. Wilson with Myreton Glory, reserve – Mawcarse Shetlands with Mawcarse Jozilynne.

Novice Miniature champion – G. McIntosh with Ardanbeag Magic’s Rosa, reserve – L. Thomson with Princess’s Sentabali Wendy. Junior champion – G. McIntosh with Ardanbeag Magic’s Rosa, reserve – L. Thomson with Princess’s Sentabali Wendy.

Open Miniature champion – J. Lawrie with Milday Ruby, reserve – L. Cochrane with Enigma Tabitha.

Junior Champion – L. Cochrane with Enigma Tabitha, reserve – J. Lawrie with Milday Rosella.

Overall Miniature champion – J. Lawrie; reserve – L. Cochrane, Enigma Tabitha.

Young handlers winners included Oliver Lochtie in the six years and under class with Mawcarse Lady Dionne, Anna Marshall in the 7–11 class with Struie Polly and Amy Hogg in the 12–16 class with Hawkdale Dixie.
