How home players performed

-

David Marshall – Again exposed for the goals and kept the score down with a couple of good saves. 7

Stephen O’Donnell – Booked for a blatant penalty-box dive to cap a difficult night for the Kilmarnock right-back. 5

Charlie Mulgrew – Would be disappointed to be beaten to a corner by Toby Alderweireld for the third goal. 5

Liam Cooper – The Leeds defender has found the movement of international football difficult to deal with in his first two caps. 5

Andy Robertson – Slow to help out the outnumbered Callum McGregor as Belgium worked their second goal from a short corner. Drove Scotland forward after the interval. 5

Scott McTominay – Found it difficult to break up the Belgian attacks or start any Scotland play. A third booking of the campaign rules him out of the trip to Russia. 5

Kenny McLean – Lost his marker for the second goal but was involved in Scotland’s better phases of possession. 5

Callum McGregor – Playing further to the left, the Celtic midfielder could not influence play. 5

Robert Snodgrass – Delivered good first-half crosses and looked lively before fading. 6

Ryan Christie – The Celtic playmaker had a few decent touches and a shot at goal. 6

Matt Phillips – The West Brom man had one positive run with the ball and a couple of ambitious shots but could not make a major impact. 5 Substitutes Stuart Armstrong (for McGregor, 68) – Delivered a brilliant cross which Phillips could not get over, and set up another decent attack. 6

Johnny Russell (for Phillips, 77) – Showed neat footwork to threaten in the box but was given a tough task up front. 6

John McGinn (for Christie, 86) – Handed the last few minutes as Belgium saw out their emphatic win. 6
