The face of a major news programme for the past 30 years has starred in a new short film produced by Pitlochry-based nature charity, the John Muir Trust.

Veteran Channel 4 journalist Jon Snow added to his long list of works by appearing in the Perthshire film.

The film is part of The Wild in Me trilogy of films produced by the trust.

Kevin Lelland of the John Muir Trust spoke of the importance of Mr Snow’s appearance in the film.

He said: “Jon Snow is one of the most respected journalists in the world who tackles with courage and integrity some of the biggest issues of our times.

“In this short, powerful film he takes on one of the greatest challenges that humanity has ever faced and points to a way forward.

“We are privileged to have him as a member of the John Muir Trust and grateful to him for helping us deliver such an important message.”

The trust’s film opens with a countdown shot of the presenter as he is about to go on air in the Channel 4 News studio.

It then shifts to a woodland where he assumes the role of a reporter exploring for naturebased solutions to climate change.

A journalist who has interrogated some of the world’s most powerful people, Mr Snow is passionate about nature and woodlands.

He recently joined the John Muir Trust and gave up his time voluntarily.

Mr Snow said: “The threat of climate change is absolutely massive and we may even have passed the tipping point.

“But I believe we have the capacity to battle it and win.”
