Witnesses sought after three children threatened by youth
Police in Perth are appealing for witnesses after threatening comments were made to three children in the city.
At around 6pm on Friday, a male made threatening comments to a boy and a girl, both aged nine, and a 13-yearold boy, who were playing in the wooded area near to the crematorium.
The suspect then made off from the area and the children reported the matter to the police.
The male was described by police as white and in his late teens.
The suspect was also thin, and had pale skin and dark circles under his eyes.
He had a long fringe hairstyle with purple highlights and was wearing a black hooded top at the time of the incident.
The police have not yet identified the man, and inquiries are continuing.
Constable Neil Aitkenhead from Perth police station said: “While none of the children were injured during this incident, they were left understandably distressed.
“We are keen to trace the suspect as soon as possible and anyone who recognises him is urged to contact police immediately.
“Likewise, anyone with any further information relevant to our ongoing investigation should also get in touch.”
Anyone with information, even if they do not think it is significant, is asked to get in touch with police.
This can be done by calling Perth police station via 101 and quoting incident number 3461 of September 13.
Information can also be given anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
