CARNBO. Angela Browning presided. Congratula­tions were given to all who had entered Kinross Show and to cup winners. Christine Allen gave a talk and demonstrat­ion on making sourdough. Competitio­ns: flower of the month – 1 Jay Hutchison, 2 Linda Band; favourite bread board – 1 Chistine Allen, 2 Margaret Greener.

CLEISH. Agnes Thomson presided. Cleish won seven trophies at Kinross Show, with Alison Morris winning the Jamieson Trophy. Competitio­n: flower of the month – 1 Fiona Barnfather, 2 Marion Laird, 3 Judith McLaren and Janette Gray.

COLLACE and KINROSSIE. President Christine Strathie welcomed members and Jane Wilkinson who gave a talk on climate literacy. Competitio­ns: apple jelly – Lilian Watson; button picture – 1 Anne Mailer, 2 Lilian Watson.

DULL and DISTRICT. Bridget Black presided and Emma Burtles led a session of chair exercises. Competitio­n: an action photograph – 1 Sheena Kennedy, 2 Charlotte Smith, 3 Frances Brace.

ERROL. Mrs Ruth McKillop presided and introduced Michael Ellacott who entertaine­d with a selection of songs and music. Competitio­ns: tablet – 1 Betty Lewis, 2 Jean Young, 3 June Lawson; fridge magnet – 1 Joan Scholfield, 2 Eleanor Symon, 3 Betty Lewis. Flower of the month – Gladys Fairbairn.

GLENISLA. Mrs Heather Kelly, a volunteer with the Mercy Ships based on the African coast, gave a talk. Competitio­ns: plum jam – 1 Sheila Cameron, 2 Kathleen Davidson; knitted premature baby’s hat – 1 Jenny Ralston, 2 Jacquie Hardy; flower of the month – Hilary Lawrence.

MADDERTY. Janet Rougvie gave a talk on going to Crufts and brought two of her terriers. Competitio­ns: lemon muffin – 1 B Drummond, 2 F Haggart, 3 J Gilchrist; flower of the month

RATTRAY and DISTRICT. Muriel Brown presided and congratula­ted Fiona Ness of The Workbasket, a longstandi­ng Rattray member, on being awarded The Handcraft Trophy for the best patchwork table centre in the whole of Scotland at the SWI H & H Scottish Conference in Aberdeen. Rattray also came third for the community group entry in the Perth Show. SWI president Linda Retson gave a talk. Competitio­ns: strawberry jam – 1 Helen Scott, 2 Anne Simpson; bracelet – 1 Greer Oliver, 2 Helen Scott, 3 Anne Driscoll; flower of the month – Anne Simpson.

SILVIE and RUTHVEN. President Rona Nicolson presented Jackie McCowan with a crystal decanter for the most overall points at Alyth Show and Jane Cameron with the H & H Guild Cup from the Angus Federation Show. Owen Foster, an 18-year-old entreprene­ur from Lunanhead, gave a talk on Owen’s Angus Jams.
