Suddenly I see £2m for house, says Tunstall

- Fife pop star KT Tunstall.

Fife pop star KT Tunstall has sold her beachside home in Los Angeles at a knockdown price of £2 million.

The Suddenly I See singer bought the 1920s house in the city’s trendy Venice Beach area five years ago after the break-up of her marriage to Luke Bullen.

However, she decided to sell up earlier this year after she bought a new “amazing” home in the nearby Topanga Canyon region without viewing it in person.

Tunstall, 44, originally from St Andrews, originally put the three bedroom property on the market for £2.6m earlier this year.

However it failed to find a buyer and she dropped the asking price to £2.3m.

Property records show it was sold for just over £2m earlier this month. The singer has still made a profit on the home as she bought it for £1.7m in 2014.

Speaking about her house plans, Tunstall said: “I had to learn to become a spender and when I did I became extremely good at it.

“I’m definitely a risk taker. I’ll get uptight about spending £250, but I won’t be uptight about buying a house.

“I’ve been in Venice Beach for six years, but I’m moving into Topanga Canyon.

“An amazing property came up but to get it at the price I could afford I had to close the deal within a month, so I bought it without seeing it.”

The Scot first found fame in 2004 when Eye to the Telescope reached No3 in the UK album charts and spawned hit singles Other Side of the World and Suddenly I See. She has sold more than six millions albums.

Tunstall said she fell in love with Venice Beach after staying in a hotel there.

She said: “I walked out of the hotel and saw dolphins jumping out of the water.

“I was blown away. It’s a little slice of paradise.”
