Tayport look out cup form as they tackle Downfield

Macron Scottish Junior Cup Round 3 There is an all-Super League North clash in the cup as Downfield host Tayport at Downfield Park.

The two sides were scheduled to meet last weekend in the league but the weather put paid to that and both sides were idle.

Whilst Tayport’s league form has been poor, they have saved their best performanc­es for the cup games and will be confident of taking a place in the next round.

Port manager Chris McPherson will be missing Conor Ireland while Downfield are without the suspended duo of Ben Sivewright and Jonny Snowden.

Kirkcaldy & Dysart boss Craig Ness has added experience­d defender Stuart Walton on loan from Dundonald Bluebell and he comes straight in to the squad for the toughlooki­ng Scottish Junior Cup tie against West Region Championsh­ip leaders Darvel at Denfield Park.

The top two in the Super League South meet at Memorial Park as Thornton Hibs host leaders Fauldhouse United.

The two sides met a month ago in the league with Thornton thrashing an understren­gth Fauldhouse 7-0.

Hibs are without Stuart Drummond through injury and joins Ian Shanks and Ian Hepburn on the sidelines. New father Garry Thomson returns to the squad.

Scone Thistle travel North to take on Aberdeen East End at New Advocates Park, confident of taking a win and progressin­g to the next round.

Sean Whitworth expects to have a full squad of 18 available for the trip to the Granite City.

SMT VTech Fife & Lothians Cup Round 2

Kennoway Star Hearts and Armadale Thistle are separated by goal difference in the Super League South so when they meet in the SMT VTech Fife & Lothians Cup at Armadale’s Volunteer Park this weekend, a close game is expected.

Hearts will travel confident of progressio­n. The Fife men have had two weeks off due to postponeme­nts and have a fully-fit squad available.

Newburgh face a tough trip to take on Super League South outfit Pumphersto­n in the Fife & Lothians Cup.

Scott Hudson’s men remain top of the Premier League South after last week’s 3-2 win at Syngenta.

Thorntons Property Cup Round 1 North

Coupar Angus host Arbroath Vics at Foxhall Park and welcome back Paul Stewart but will be without Lee Davidson through suspension.

Violet boss Andy Heggie sees the visit of Blairgowri­e to Glenesk Park as a chance to see how much progress his young side have made.

The Pansies are unbeaten in three league games and ran the visitors close, last time they met.

The Dundee side are expected to have a full squad available.

With last weekend’s clash at home to Bo’ness United being postponed, Lochgelly Albert still need to bounce back from throwing away a 3-0 lead at Stoneyburn to lose 6-3.

This weekend Andy Healy’s men face bottom club West Calder United at Gardiners Park. Healy expects to have a full squad available with the return of Pat Armour and James Gunn.

Rosyth will be looking to close the gap on second-placed Stoneyburn as the Lothian side travel to The Fleet Grounds this weekend. Rosyth have started to put a bit of form together and beat Linlithgow Rose 3-1 last weekend at home.

The Fife side’s only concerns are over Mike McMillan, who has a dead leg, and Liam McQueen with an ankle knock.
