-

Thornton Hibs went top of the Super League South for the first time this season following an impressive 4-0 win at Whitburn.

Garry Thomson Jr put Hibs in front on nine minutes and within 60 seconds Ben Anthony had made it 2-0.

Daniel McNab added a third for the Fife side on the half hour before Anthony scored his second and his side’s fourth from the penalty spot on 37 minutes.

Hibs’ keeper was in no mood to let the home side back into it and saved Reece Duncan’s penalty in first-half stoppage time.

With Fauldhouse United surprisingly going down 2-0 at local rivals Armadale Thistle, Hibs jump above the leaders to take over at the top.

Kennoway Star Hearts were comfortable winners over fellow strugglers Harthill Royal at Treaton Park with the Fife side running out 4-0 winners.

Lee Bryce scored his first on 33 minutes to put Hearts in front and then added a second on 57 minutes before completing his hat-trick in 77 minutes. Lewis Grierson struck the fourth in stoppage time.

All four of the scheduled games in the Super League North were postponed due to overnight rain.

Things change very quickly in football and after leading the Premier League South for so long, Newburgh now trail leaders Stoneyburn by five points after a heavy defeat at Rosyth.

The Fife side took the lead on 22 minutes through Jack Henderson, but Sam Kirkham equalised for Scott Hudson’s Burgh just two minutes later.

Rosyth went in 2-1 in front at half time after Stuart Gibb equalised in stoppage time.

The second half was the Barry Sibanda show for Rosyth as the former Dundonald Bluebell and St Andrews

United man tore the Newburgh defence apart scoring three times on 56, 67 and 82 minutes to complete an emphatic 5-1 win.

Lochgelly Albert and Syngenta had to settle for a share of the points as their clash at Gardiners Park ended at 1-1.

The two goals came within two minutes of each other just after the halfhour mark. Adam Haddow put Albert in front on 32 minutes only for the visitors to equalise two minutes later.

Kirkcaldy and Dysart had Liam Bell to thank for their point at home to Sauchie Juniors CFC.

Sauchie had taken the lead on 13 minutes through Ryan Convery but substitute Bell earned a draw for Craig Ness’s side with the equaliser in stoppage time.
