Fife business week begins
The 10th Fife Business Week got under way yesterday with the aim of inspiring people and transforming businesses in Fife.
The week provides opportunities for Fife’s businesses to come together to network and exchange ideas.
There is a broad range of seminars and workshops on offer, covering issues that are important to the local economy.
This year, events include understanding and achieving growth, trading online and funding growth, while a Dragon’s Den event featuring school-based social enterprises will showcase the entrepreneurial skills of pupils.
Fife College will be hosting a breakfast networking event for local employers aimed at promoting recruitment and employment opportunities to college students.
Fife Chamber is hosting four events during the week including Fife Learn: Parting Company with Talent, Recruiting Talent and Developing Talent.
The third sector will be spotlighted as Fife Voluntary Action will provide an insight into the contribution it makes to the local economy and will include a session on the five core principles of governance.
Pamela Stevenson, enterprise and business development manager at Fife Council, said: “This 10th anniversary of Fife Business Week is encouraging even more businesses to participate in the many events and workshops being held throughout the week across the whole of Fife.
“The ever-changing economic climate means businesses need to be fully aware of all the opportunities out there as well as the challenges.
It’s the chance to meet up and network with like-minded people in business and share opportunities and experiences.”
The event is hosted by Fife Council’s economic development team and Business Gateway team.
