Austin grabs four as clinical Kelty rout Vale of Leithen 11-0

-

Kelty Hearts had scored 13 goals in their previous two encounters this season against Vale of Leithen, so it was no real surprise that the visitors were on the end of another thrashing at the hands of Barry Ferguson’s side at New Central Park, but the 11-0 win was a bit of a shock.

Hearts led 7-0 at the break courtesy of two goals from both Nathan Austin and Cammy Russell as well as strikes from Scott Linton, Arnault Bembo and Ross Philp.

The second half saw Austin find the back of the net twice more as well as goals from Dylan Easton and Stephen Husband to complete the rout.

Kevin Fotheringham’s first game as Dundonald Bluebell manager, after swapping positions with Lee Dair, was an eventful affair, against Broxburn Athletic at Moorside Park.

Zander Miller put the visitors 2-0 in front with goals on 55 and 61 minutes but Bluebell looked to have secured a point after Kieran Dall on 73 minutes and Lewis McKenzie on 81 minutes pulled the home side level.

Miller had other ideas and completed his hattrick and struck the winner for Broxburn with five minutes to go.

A goal in each half saw Crossgates Primrose record a 2-0 victory at Blackburn United that lifts Alan Campbell’s side above Linlithgow Rose in to the top half of the Premier Division.

Scott Lawrie put Primrose in front on the half-hour and Jonny Galloway doubled the advantage on the hour mark to secure the points.

Jeanfield Swifts came from behind to beat Musselburgh Athletic at Riverside.

Darren Downie scored twice in the first 10 minutes to put Musselburgh in control but Jeanfield pulled a goal back just before half-time with a Connor McLaren penalty.

The turning point of the second half was the red card shown to Musselburgh’s Michael Moffat with 15 minutes to go and Ross Gunnion’s Swifts took control.

Chris McLeish equalised before Aaron Whitehead put his side in front and two minutes later Regan McLaren added a fourth in stoppage time.
