KILCONQUHA­R and COLINSBURG­H. Members enjoyed a Burns supper with the food provided by members and the kitchen in the capable hands of Irene Hamilton. Competitio­ns: flower of the month – Francis Winton; piece of Scottish pottery – 1 Marjory Lyon, 2 Jean Forgan. Elizabeth Goodall gave the vote of thanks.

MEMUS and FERN. President Davina Farquharso­n welcomed members. Tribute was paid to honorary member Alison Baird, a member for more than three decades, who died in December. Shona Young gave a talk on local company Nutscene, makers of garden twine. Competitio­ns: flower of the month – 1 Kathleen Melville, 2 Ella Grant, 3 Frances Craig: chocolate fudge – 1 Davina Farquharso­n, 2 Jane Butterwort­h, 3 Lavina Harvey; amigurumi – Mary Donnolly. FARNELL. Members enjoyed a Burns supper of haggis, neeps and tatties. Joe Aitken from Kirriemuir sang bothy ballads. Competitio­ns: Pot plant – 1 Margaret Ross, 2 Morag Ramsay, 3 Sarah Ramsay; cross stitch Easter card – 1 Morag Ramsay, 2 Sarah Ramsay, 3 Margaret Ross.

ARBIRLOT and CARMYLLIE. President Edith Douglas introduced Keris Douglas who demonstrat­ed cake icing. One of the cakes was donated to the raffle and was won by Grace Smith. Competitio­ns: decorated cake – 1 Liz Nicol, 2 Edith Douglas; verse – Audrey Hancock; flower – 1 Audrey Hancock, 2 Margaret Clark, 3 Liz Nicol. Sandra Evans gave the vote of thanks.

NORTHMUIR. President Elma Dickens welcomed members to a musical evening of country, Scottish and Irish songs sung by John Findlay. Gail Cable gave the vote of thanks. AUCHTERHOU­SE. President Ann Black welcomed members. The Burns supper raised £250 for the Mercy Ships charity. Katie Goldie and Julie Geyer showed how to make corsages from tartan ribbon.
