Bleachers look for DJ Laing Cup progress

DJ Laing East Region Cup Third Round

Luncarty take a break from their Super League North campaign and return to the DJ Laing East Region Cup and face a trip to Newtown Park to take on Bo’ness United JFC today.

The Perthshire outfit beat Carnoustie Panmure in the last round back in August and will be looking to progress through to the next round against their Premier League South opponents.

Manager Robbie Holden is without Callum Kirkcaldy through suspension but otherwise the new man in the Brownlands Park hotseat has a full squad available.

Tayport are out of the bottom three in the Super League North and will be looking to continue their upturn by progressin­g past Scone Thistle at Farquharso­n Park.

The Perth outfit are still on the lookout for a new boss following Sean Whitworth’s resignatio­n.

The home side go in to the game without Ross Mitchell through suspension and Darren Spence will face a late fitness test. However, Craig Mitchell returns to the squad.

Tayport make the trip without suspended skipper Ryan Suttie but manager Chris McPherson has an otherwise full squad available.

It’s an all-Fife encounter in the second round of the Fife and Lothians Cup as Lochgelly Albert take on Thornton Hibs at Gardiners Park.

Should the game survive the weather Albert boss Andy Healy is likely to give a debut to new signing Lewis Hynd but Andrew Stark misses out through injury.

Thornton Hibs make the trip to Gardiners Park without forward Scott Orrock who is waiting for a scan but Daniel McNab is added to manager Craig Gilbert’s squad

Kennoway Star Hearts will be looking to take the points and move out of the bottom two of the Super League South as they travel to Creamery

Newburgh travel to take on West Calder United at Livingston FC’s Tony Macaroni Stadium as Hermand Park is unfit.
