Clubs assemble squads ahead of autumn restart

Perthshire, Fife sides bring in new faces – and hand out new deals

St Andrews United boss Charlie King has been getting his hands dirty helping out with the groundwork for the club’s floodlight­s at Recreation Park as well as preparing his squad for the new season.

Michael Fleming, Ross Cunningham, Scott Cunningham, Daryl Falconer and Dylan Honeyman officially signed new deals last week and with three more expected to commit this week, King will switch his attention to the possibilit­y of bringing in new faces.

New boys Kennoway Star Hearts have re-signed left back Craig Wallace for their first season in the EOSL and manager Lee Richardson is looking to bring in some new faces.

Oakley United manager Stewart Kenny has the majority of his work done and is itching to get out on to the training pitch.

Kenny has re-signed 16 of last season’s squad as well as new faces Jack Cowan and Aaron Jones and hopes to be able to bring in at least another two players

In Perthshire, Premier League Jeanfield Swifts have managed to retain the majority of last season’s squad including player of the year Scott Smith and players’ player Jake Dolzanski.

Luncarty manager Robbie Holden has signed Craig Mitchell from Scone Thistle and Lewis Mackie from Jeanfield, while the experience­d Lee Deans moves to Brownlands Park.

Holden has also agreed extensions for skipper Stuart Nicol, Sean Burton, Kieran Donald and Danny Dobie.

Kinnoull have signed Kieran Sweeney, Kyle Wooley – who was on loan from Jeanfield last season – former amateur Kieran Dott, Andrew McKenzie from Scone Thistle and former Farquharso­n Park team-mate Darren Gray, who is returning to Tulloch Park for a second time.
