Carol Vorderman believes her son will find “heaven” when he moves to Dundee.

The former Countdown star tweeted her delight after her son, Cameron King, who was born with severe dyslexia and attention deficit disorder, collected a first-class degree in animation.

His next destination will be Dundee to study a master’s degree in animation and video effects.

Ms Vorderman, who has a weekly show on BBC Radio Wales, wrote on Twitter: “My son Cameron was born with the severest dyslexia and ADD, by the age of six many schools had refused to accept him.

“He went to a ‘special school’ for four years. Then to mainstream where he was bullied (common for kids like him).

“At age 16, he changed to a school which was kinder.

“Cam has only ever wanted to be a video games designer.

“He’s profoundly bright, hardworking and a good person. In spite of his slower start in life, this week he got this .... first-class BA Honours degree in Animation.

“Cam’s off to do his master’s degree in Animation and Video FX at Dundee University.

“I didn’t realise but Dundee is a huge centre for video gaming. Grand Theft Auto began in Dundee.

“I think my boy will have found his heaven.”

The university says that the course, which is based at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, helps students “learn the creative and technical skills and the professional production pipelines that you need to work in the animation industry”.
