Shipyard to face Thornton in first round of King Cup

-

The East of Scotland League made a positive step towards a restart of action with the draw for the first two rounds of the King Cup following their meeting with Scottish FA CEO Ian Maxwell.

The games won’t take place until March next year but the tie of the first round is the clash between Burntisland Shipyard and Thornton Hibs that will take place at Recreation Park.

Shipyard have attracted a number of players from their opponents and that is sure to add a bit of an edge to the game.

EOSL new boys Luncarty face Rosyth at home, while Lochgelly Albert host Dalkeith Thistle and Kirkcaldy & Dysart welcome Dunipace.

St Andrews United face a trip to Perth to take on Kinnoull at Tulloch Park, Lochore Welfare will renew their rivalry with Newburgh at Central Park, and Glenrothes travel south to take on Arniston.

The last of the local clubs, Oakley United, also make the journey south as they have been drawn away to Ormiston.

The second round draw was also made and the highlight is a provisional clash between Thornton and Kirkcaldy, should both sides progress, while the winners of the Kinnoull v St Andrews United tie travel to take on Kennoway Star Hearts at Treaton Park.
