Kelty eyeing chance to move top of table

-

Kelty Hear ts will be looking to maintain their 100% start to their Lowland League campaign tonight as they face Vale of Leithen under the New Central Park floodlights.

A win for Kelty against visitors yet to earn a point could see them go top of the league for 24 hours as the top four all play tomorrow.

Boss Barry Ferguson is likely to make a couple of changes to freshen things up but has no injury concerns and expects to have the same squad that faced Dalbeattie Star on Saturday.

Thornton Hibs’ Soccer Shop Direct Challenge Cup tie against Rutherglen Glencairn was postponed at the weekend and boss Craig Gilbert should have the same squad of 18 available for the East of Scotland League First Division trip to Dunipace.

Gilbert said “Dunipace is a tricky place to go at any time but even tougher midweek. However, we have 18 boys available and are looking to maintain our good start.”

In Conference B Glenrothes were another side to miss out at the w e e ke n d when their game at Preston Athletic was called off.

They t rav e l to the capital to face Heriot Watt University tonight.

Glenrothes co-manager John Martin said: “We were disappointed that Saturday ’s game was called off. Hopefully we can kickstart the season with a positive result on Tuesday night.”

Grant Skinner and Lea Schiavone are the only absentees for Glenrothes.
