Cowden missing four for trip to Stranraer

-

Cowdenbeath make the cross- countr y trip to Stranraer for the first time since a League One meeting in April 2016.

Central Park boss Gary Bollan is not being fooled by the Stair Park side’s slow start to life following relegation to League One.

The Wi g t o w n s h i r e Blues have only picked up one point so far and have lost at home to Elgin and Queen’s Park.

Bollan said: “I am not reading anything into their poor start.

“I have not taken Cowdenbeath down there before but I have taken other teams and I know that it is a very difficult venue.

“They have a strong squad full of players that have played higher than League Two, so we will have to be on top of our game to get anything.

“We were the underdogs at Edinburgh City a fortnight ago and won that one despite only having 10 men, and a performance like that one again would be great.”

Bollan added: “I am still disappointed at not winning against Stenhousemuir last Saturday.

“It was a hard-fought game but allowing them to score late on from one of the few chances they had meant that we dropped two points we should not have dropped.

“I want to put that right by winning at Stranraer.”

The Blue Brazil are four players down with David Cox, Kris Renton and Gavin Morrison all ruled out through injury, with new recruit Iain Russell not yet ready to make his debut following his loan move from Pollok.

Caretaker Brechin City boss Michael Paton has earned himself the job on a permanent basis on a two-and-a-half year deal.
