Fernandy Mendy has urged Raith Rovers to stay grounded after they hit the heights and moved to the summit of the Championsh­ip at the weekend.

The Stark’s Park outfit jumped above rivals Dunfermlin­e thanks to their 5- 0 hammering of Morton, ensuring they go into tonight’s Betfred Cup clash with Inverness Caley Thistle full of confidence.

He said: “We’re top of the league, which is a great feeling, but we know it is very early and we know we can lose just one game and we’ll drop down the table.

“We just need to stay focused and keep working hard, and tr y to keep winning games.

“Now we have Inverness in the cup and we need to keep going and keep our concentrat­ion, and not be distracted by the games that are in the past.”

Former Dundee loan star Christophe Berra has fought back to fitness after an Achilles tendon injury picked up early in preseason training and is in line for his first appearance for Hearts for almost a year in tonight’s Betfred Cup tie against East Fife.
