Ploughing a straight furrow
Perthshire farmers of all ages have kept traditions alive this month by holding socially-distanced ploughing and clay pigeon shooting competitions.
This year’s Atholl and Breadalbane Ploughing Society match took place in perfect weather at Guay farm, Ballinluig, with Billy Henderson from Strathtay crowned the match winner by a team of four judges.
Meanwhile, Aberfeldy and District JAC’s clay pigeon shoot was won by a team comprising Iain Dott, Ciaran Wo o d m a n - Robinson and Ed Munt.
Their next meeting is a vehicle maintenance night at Sean Black’s garage at Gatehouse on November 17 at 7.30pm. Ploughing results: Conventional: throw-out – Rory Scott.
