STIRLING – Caledonian Marts sold 2,069 prime lambs, ewes and tups.

Prime lambs (1,552) averaged 203p (+10p on the week and +25p on the year) and sold to 236p per kg for a 42kg Texel from DA Baird, Ninewells, Newburgh, and £116 for a 62kg Beltex from Doune Farms, West Lundie, Argaty.

SQQ lambs (910) averaged 206p per kg (+8p on the week and +25p on the year). Cast ewes and rams (547) averaged £89.49 for heavy ewes, which sold to £100 for Texels from John More, Townhead, Arnprior. Export ewes averaged £61.17 selling to £74 for Cheviots from WSL Muir, Upper Onston, Stenness.

Cast rams sold to £110 for Texels from John More, Townhead, Arnprior.

THAINSTONE –

Aberdeen & Northern Marts sold 2,048 breeding sheep, breeding rams and store lambs including island consignmen­ts. Store lambs (1,659) averaged £66.37 and sold to £90 for Texels from Deanshillo­ck, Orton.

Island lambs (231) averaged £55.93 and sold to £89 for a pen of Texels from Howan, Dounby.

Island sheep (53) sold to £83 for a Suffolk gimmer from Lower House, Hillwell. Breeding sheep (105) sold to £320 for a Texel shearling from Little Whitefield, Forglen. “All classes of lambs sold dearer on the week with shortkeep lambs being very sought after.

“The online platform once again proved successful where an increased number of 549 head were bought from the sale, this being the largest number bought online from a store sheep sale at our centre.”

DINGWALL – Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd sold 12 prime cattle.

Prime bullocks (2) averaged 210.8p (+0.5p) and sold to 216.0p per kg for a 600kg Charolais cross and £1,339 for a 650kg Limousin cross both from Bridgend Farm, Dingwall.

Prime heifers (10) averaged 212.5p (+4.9p) and sold to 222.0p per kg for a 575kg Limousin cross and £1,358.90 for a 635kg Aberdeen-Angus cross both from Bridgend Farm.

Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd sold 477 prime sheep.

New season lambs (384) averaged 195.1p (+5.7p) and sold to 204.7p per kg for a pen of 43kg Texel crosses from Lochdhu, Nairn, and £95.50 for a pen of 53kg Texel crosses from Corrybroug­h, Tomatin. SQQ 36.5kg to 45.5kg (255) averaged 199.2p (+8.3p) per kg.

Feeding sheep (93) sold to £116 for a Texel ewe from Easter Dalziel Farm, Dalcross.

STIRLING –

Caledonian Marts Ltd sold 367 store and breeding cattle. Bullocks averaged 203p selling to 295p per kg for a pen of Simmentals from R Wainwright, Cliad, Isle of Coll, and to £1,300 for a pen of Charolais from J Dunn & Co, Martnaham Mains, Dalrymple. Heifers averaged 200p, selling to 235p per kg for a pen of Simmentals from B McIntyre, Feall, and to £1,170 for a pen of Charolais from J Dunn & Co, Martnaham Mains. Black and Whites sold to 180p per kg from TM Drummond, Low Barbeth, Stranraer, and to £820 from R Watson, Thorngreen, Kinrossie. Heifers and calves sold to £1,140 for an AberdeenAn­gus with Aberdeen-Angus bull calf at foot from DJ Watson, Ardnacross, Campbeltow­n.

Bulling heifers sold to £1,080 for a pair of Aberdeen-Angus from DD McEwen, Arnprior, Stirling.

In-calf heifers sold to £1,160 for a Shorthorn, A & H Kirkpatric­k, Strathmore.

STIRLING – United Auctions sold 2,469 store and feeding sheep.

Averages for store lambs: Mule £70.00 (+£0.73 on the week); Cheviot £69.99 (+£1.39); Suffolk cross £75.95 (+£0.58); Beltex cross £72.02 (-£10.17); Texel cross £69.85 (-£3.00); Blackface £57.62 (-£0.05).
