Cowden boss seeking some home comforts

-

Gary Bollan believes his Cowdenbeath team need to make home advantage count as they prepare to host high-flying Edinburgh City.

The Blue Brazil picked up a point in a 1-1 draw with Stranraer at the weekend and now welcome an Edinburgh City side who have won three games from three since appointing Gary Naysmith as their new boss.

Bollan said: “We have two massive, massive games coming up with Edinburgh City and then Albion Rovers but they are home games and we will be looking to take three points in both of them.

“We are a better team than we showed on Saturday. We have better passers of the ball in the team and we did not retain the ball well enough at times and hopefully we will start showing that on Tuesday night.”

Bollan has also backed new signings Kyle Hutton and Zander Miller to help guide the Central Park side to League Two safety.

He added: “Kyle came on and showed the quality he has in the middle of the park.

“He took the sting out of the game and was very comfortable in possession. He is a good passer and I think in the next three, four and five weeks we will get the benefit of him.

“We have needed more goals in the team and that is why I brought Zander to the club and why he started on Saturday.

“We looked a bit more dangerous up top and we put more balls into the box. I cannot fault the lads for effort, because this is such a hard period for them.

“We are not going to have a lot of time to work on anything in training, we are just going to have to do it in games.”
