HUNTLY – United Auctions sold 1,618 prime sheep. New season lambs (14) averaged 297.3p and sold to a top price of 307p per kg for a pen of 45kg Texels from Nether Dalachy, Spey Bay, and to £151 for 50kg Texels from Mid Haddo, Fyvie.

Old season lambs (966) SQQ averaged 277.8p and sold to 305p per kg for 41.1kg Texels from Mid Street, Keith, and to £147 for 57kg Texels from Bogenhilt, Forglen.

Ewes (638) sold to a top price of £175 twice, firstly for a Charollais and secondly for a Beltex both consigned by Messrs Ingram, Logie Durno. Leading prices:

Bullocks (425) averaged 266.2p and sold to 370.7p per kg for a 205kg Limousin cross from Balmaglast­er, Spean Bridge, and £1,500 for a 685kg Limousin cross from Rovie Lodge, Rogart.

Heifers (433) averaged 253.8p and sold to a top of 352.5p per kg for a 295kg Limousin from Raitcastle Farm, Nairn, and £1,220 for a 575kg Aberdeenan­gus from Strathglas­s Farms, Cannich.

Young bulls (13) sold to a top price of 286.3p per kg for a 241kg Limousin from Pithogarty, Tain, and £1,110 for a 475kg Salers cross from Dunain Mains, Inverness. Breeding cattle (7) sold to £2,100 for a Limousin bull from 1 Balrobert Cottages, Inverness.

OTM prime and feeding cows (71) sold to 187.4p per kg for a 555kg Limousin from 9 Balmacara, Kirkton and £1,390 gross for an 865kg Simmental cross from Achvaneran Farm, Inverness. FORFAR – Lawrie & Symington sold 20 prime cattle, nine OTM cattle, and 268 prime lambs, hoggs, ewes and rams.

Prime bullocks (eight) averaged 244p and sold to a top of 260p per kg for a 662kg British Blue from Nethermyre­s, and to £1,744.08 for a 676kg Limousin also from Nethermyre­s.

Prime heifers (12) averaged 253p and sold to a top of 262p per kg (twice) for a 584kg Limousin from West Bog and for a 540kg Limousin from Nethermyre­s, and to £1,530.08 for a 584kg Limousin from West Bog. OTMS (nine) sold to a top of £1,240 for a Limousin bull from Afflochie.

Prime hoggs (218) averaged 272p and sold to 329p per kg for 47kg Beltex from Newmill of Inshewan, and to £163 for a pair of 61kg Texels from Westhall.

Prime hoggs SQQ averaged 280p per kg.

Spring lambs sold to a top of 315p per kg and £136 for Suffolks from East Ingliston. Ewes and rams averaged £92 and sold to a top of £141 for Texel ewes from Westhall.
