Farming industry is in safe hands with J Low

- BY CATHERINE MCEACHERN

Fife’s J Low Agri has been supporting the agricultural sector in the east of Scotland for nearly 20 years.

After setting up as a sole trader in 2002, James Low has transformed his business over the past two decades, from one hire tractor to what the impressive agricultural service company is today, located at Kelty Industrial Park in Fife.

From machinery sales, servicing and repairs, to welding and fabrication, J Low Agri caters to any and every agricultural need.

And it is through nothing but hard work, skill and customer satisfaction that James’ company is as well-trusted by farmers in Fife and surrounding areas as it is today, renowned for its dedication to clients and the industry as a whole.

Indeed, co-owner, Karen Low, believes that its commitment to always doing what is best for the customer is at the forefront of J Low Agri’s success.

She says: “We pride ourselves in providing a top-quality service to our customers at reasonable costs.

“If a part can be repaired rather than replaced, we will do that.

“We always look at costs from the perspective of the customer, we want to keep costs as low as possible for them.”

And though J Low Agri now holds a franchise contract with Case IH, the company continues to service and repair a wide range of tractors, as Karen says: “A lot of our loyal customers were coming to us before we formed a partnership with Case IH, and so we continue to serve them in every way we can.”

With a thorough understanding of the agricultural industry and the importance of quality machinery, J Low Agri goes as far as changing its own working schedule to cater to the urgent needs of its customers.

Karen explains: “It’s not always first come, first serve with us; we take it on ourselves to rearrange our own workload to prevent our customers being left in the lurch.”

One customer who will testify to the stellar customer service of J Low Agri is farmer and contractor Stephen Giblin, from Lalathan Farm in Kennoway.

Providing harvesting and cultivation services in the east of Scotland and beyond, Stephen has purchased two tractors from J Low Agri in the past three years – an Optum 300 CVX and a Puma 240 CVX – and would highly recommend its services to others in the farming industry.

He says: “I bought my first tractor from J Low Agri in 2019 and was so impressed with the service and quality of the machine that I ordered another one not long after.”

In the time he has dealt with J Low Agri, Stephen has always felt that he can rely on the firm and says he could not fault its service.

He explains: “It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, James will come to see you if you need his help.

“It could be midday or midnight and he’d come.

“James knows the nature of the game; we harvest carrots and parsnips all year round so having a broken-down tractor isn’t an option for us.

“That’s why it’s so important to have agricultural service providers you can truly rely on.”
