• RUGBY: Highlights of the British and Irish Lions’ series against South Africa are to be shown on terrestria­l TV.

Channel 4 will broadcast footage from the three Tests against the world champions and will also provide live coverage of the pre-tour warm-up match against Japan at Murrayfiel­d on June

26. In addition, All4 will televise highlights of all tour matches.

• TENNIS: Five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams and British No 1 Johanna Konta are set to headline this summer’s Nottingham Open line-up, depending on how they fare at the French Open.

The WTA Tour event kicks off the grasscourt season from June 5-13 at the Nottingham Tennis Centre. However, due to the pandemic, this summer’s French Open has been put back a week, meaning it will still be in action when the Nottingham event is due to take place.

FOOTBALL: The NFL has announced plans to return to London this October with two games scheduled to be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Atlanta Falcons will host the New York Jets on October 10 with the Jacksonvil­le Jaguars to face the Miami Dolphins a week later.

• BOXING: Former two-time world bantamweig­ht champion Jamie Mcdonnell has announced his retirement.

The Doncaster 35-year-old won 30 of his 35 contests, with three defeats, one draw and one no contest and captured the vacant IBF crown in 2013 before he won the vacant WBA belt by stopping Tabtimdaen­g Na Rachawat the following year at Wembley.
