FORFAR – Lawrie & Symington sold 20 prime cattle, nine OTMS and 373 prime lambs, hoggs, ewes and rams and breeding sheep Bullocks (5) averaged 247p and sold to 266p per kg for a 576kg Limousin from the Gask and to £1,636.80 for a 660kg BB from Nethermyre­s. Heifers (15) averaged 252p and sold to 267p per kg (twice), once for a 566kg Limousin from Craignathr­o and then for a 530kg Limousin from Nethermyre­s, and to £1,545.80 for a 590kg Limousin from the Gask. OTMS (9) sold to £1,495 for a Simmental cross from Whitehall.

Prime sheep: 15 BF ewes and lambs forward sold to £56 per life from Waterside Farm. Spring lambs (19) averaged 362p and sold to 400p per kg for 41kg Texels from Mill of Murroes and £179 twice both from Upper Tulloes. Prime hoggs (260) averaged 273p and sold to 338p per kg for a pen of Beltex and to £159 per head for Beltex from Easter Balgillo.

Prime hoggs SQQ averaged 277p per kg.

Prime spring lambs (65) averaged 337p and sold to 414p per kg for a Suffolk cross from Miekle Seggie, Milnathort, and £185 for a Beltex from Octhermuth­ill, Muthill, and £180 for Suffolks from Skilmafill­y, Aberdeensh­ire.

SQQ prime spring lambs averaged 373p per kg. Prime hoggs averaged 270p and sold to 309p per kg and £160 for Texels from Letter, Dunkeld. Prime hoggs SQQ averaged 272p per kg. Heavy ewes sold to £159 for Texx from Skilmafill­y, Ellon and export ewes sold to £116 for Cheviots from West Dron, Bridge of Earn. Cast rams sold to £156 for a Texel from Leuchars Lodge, Fife.
