Kelty Hearts boss Kevin Thomson says he’s delighted to keep the good streak going after his side maintained their unbeaten run.

They’ve now stretched the run to 14 games and Thomson says long may it continue.

Although Stenny tried hard to get back into the match, the home defence soaked up late pressure and keeper Darren Jamieson did well with several saves.

Thomson said: “The boys dominated the game and it could have been more. I’ll never get bored of winning games of football.

“It’s a great feeling to win, the best feeling in the world, and I’ll never say sorry for winning.”

Although the Maroon Machine were dominant, Stenny put up a fight and kept going.

The hosts got the start they wanted with a seventh-minute strike after Andrew Black broke away and fed the on-loan Connor Barron, who hit the back of the net from 10 yards.

Ross Forbes almost equalised in the 15th minute, but his shot was stopped by home keeper Jamieson.

Kelty were dominating play and Ross Philp saw his net-bound shot hit a player in the 25th minute and then Jordan Foster’s header was saved in the top corner by Stenny keeper David Wilson.

Stenny’s best spell came just after the halfhour mark when Darren Christie came close with a 20-yarder and Nicky Jamieson made a fine challenge and blocked Alfredo Agyeman’s attempt at goal.

Joe Cardle had a great chance for the home side on 40 minutes, but his effort went over the crossbar. Stenny almost equalised just after the interval, but Adam Brown’s attempt went inches past.

Five minutes into the second half, Kelty virtually sealed the victory when Kallum Higginbotham set up Cardle and the veteran Kelty winger hammered the ball home from the edge of the box.

In the 74th minute Botti Biabi saw his shot from 12 yards blocked by a Stenny defender and Higginbotham headed just past the post.

At the other end, the visitors had two late chances when Euan O’reilly shot past in the 85th minute and Bernard Coll saw a stoppage-time effort fly wide.
