BLUEBELL LOOK TO BLOSSOM

-

There are three games involving local clubs in the East of Scotland League tonight

Dundonald Bluebell manager Kevin Fotheringham has told his side they need to start to pick up points.

Their inconsistency has seen Bluebell drop to 10th place in the Premier League – two points behind tonight’s visitors Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts, who continue to punch above their weight.

Swifts came back from 2-0 down to take a point at league leaders Penicuik Athletic in their last game before Christmas and will be fired up to take three points from their rivals.

Fotheringham is still without Chris Gay, James Lennox and Scott Gilfillan through long-term injuries while Jim Mackie is ill.

The visitors have no such problems and are expected to have the same squad that drew at Penicuik.

The First Division Conference A clash at Clayton Caravan Park Recreation Ground between St Andrews United and Kennoway Star Hearts sees the two sides go into the game with differing fortunes.

Saints are unbeaten in four, after a poor start to the season but new manager Barry Cockburn has steadied the ship and set sail for safety in recent weeks.

Kennoway had their sights set on promotion but a recent run of defeats against a backdrop of injury and illness has seen Lee Richardson’s side slip down to fifth place.

However, Richardson’s only absentee is Harris Kay and Hearts will travel with a pretty much full squad available.

Saints picked a few knocks before Christmas and Cockburn will leave his final selection late once he has a better idea on availability.

Conference B leaders Glenrothes make the short trip to take on Burntisland Shipyard, looking to extend their lead at the top.

When the two sides met at Warout Stadium in September, Glens won 2-1 against ninemen Shippy after Scott Costello and Darrell Anthony were sent off.
