JAMIESON COMMITS FUTURE TO FLYERS

-

Fifer Scott Jamieson has re-signed for the Fife Flyers for season 2022-23, marking the fourth signing the ice hockey club has made so far in preparation for the new campaign.

Jamieson is a product of the Fife development system having started his career with the Fife Flames, then moving to play with the Kirkcaldy Kestrels before being called up to the Flyers.

The 21-year-old from Kirkcaldy was a hit with fans and his hard work paid off last season when he grabbed his first competitive Elite League goal against Belfast in December. He will be hoping to add to that tally in the upcoming season.

Jamieson said: “I am really happy to be coming back for another season, I feel I showed everyone what I can do last year but I am pushing to do this on a consistent basis.

“Everyone knows I am a local lad and grew up supporting the club from a young age and also coming through the junior set up.

“There’s nothing I want more than to see this club being successful and also to be a part of it.”

Flyers head coach and GM Todd Dutiaume also welcomed the forward.

He said: “It is important for many Flyers fans to see local players getting an opportunity to play for the club.

“Over the years we have been blessed with many such players and Scott has the tools to follow on a long line of local players who have been regulars for the Flyers.

“I love his skating ability and nose for getting in the right places offensively. We have spoken extensively over the off season on what needs to be done and Scott is up for the challenge.

“I am excited to see what he can do in the upcoming season.”

Meanwhile, Dundee Stars have added to their roster with the signing of Canadian winger Carter Folk.

The attacker came up through the Saskatchewan youth leagues in Canada and is now ready to make the switch across to Europe for his first full season of pro hockey.

Folk said: “I am really excited to get things going and to build on the great season the Stars had last year and continuing to build the fanbase in Dundee.”
