The regional food and drink group for Perth and Kinross is celebrating reaching 100 members. Great Perthshire, administered by enterprise support organisation Growbiz, achieved the milestone of having 100 members listed on its website directory this spring.

The initiative offers networking, peer support, learning opportunities and mentoring to anyone in the food and drink sector.

Group co-ordinator and Growbiz enterprise facilitator Daniel Muir said: “We are really pleased to see our website directory grow to 100 listings, and we also have many more members in our Facebook group and mailing list.

“We would encourage any food, drink or hospitality providers in Perth and Kinross to add their details to the website if they haven’t already.

“This enables suppliers, customers and others to clearly see the incredible variety and quality of the food and drink offering we have in Perth and Kinross.”

The chairman of the Great Perthshire steering committee, Chris Rowley, said: “Great Perthshire provides a community and platform within Perthshire hospitality to celebrate and showcase the outstanding produce available across the region.

“I’m delighted to be leading the group, growing our network and continuing our legacy.

“I’m extremely passionate about the food and drink that is produced in Perth and Kinross and supporting the wonderful people behind these businesses.

“We’re excited to continue growing our network and to really put Perth and Kinross on the food lover’s map.”

Great Perthshire plans to join up with fellow food and drink groups Appetite for Angus, Eat and Drink Dundee and Food from Fife to organise a Tasting Tayside event in May.

Taking place on May 14 in Dundee, the event will run from 10am-1pm.

Guests will experience local food and drink, as well as have the opportunity to learn how to stock it during a showcase.

There will also be an interactive workshop for producers and an expert panel discussing the topic of “How to Grow Your Business and Explore New Routes to Market”.
