Final over

- josh poysden Warwickshire leg-spinner

On the Spot

Date of Birth: 08/08/1991 Marital Status: girlfriend Caitlin.

The Last

Bat you bought/used? I’m currently sponsored by Woodstock. I have one of their Airstreams which is the best bat I’ve ever used. It’s got a big middle and it just flies off if I ever do make contact, so it’s brilliant.

CD you bought? The only time I have CDs now is for the car, but I bought the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ greatest hits last year which comes most places with me. Five-wicket haul or century? Centuries are a rarity for me, so it’ll have to be a six-for I took at the start of May. It was 6-47 against the Unicorns in a 2nd XI match. Injury? Touch wood, but I’ve not been injured for a while, although the last one wasn’t particularly nice. The ball clattered into my hand in a game in 2013, broke some of my fingers and gave me a dislocation, which needed two operations to fix.

Trophy you won? We won the T20 Blast with Warwickshire in 2014, which was excellent for us, particularly winning at Finals Day at Edgbaston. In front of the home fans, that was a really special day for all of us.

The Jury’s Out

Tea have or my Coffee?own espresso Coffee. I machine, so it’s got to be coffee, although I’m not adverse to tea. Beans on toast or pasta? Pasta – but my girlfriend Caitlin and I do a nice prawn and chorizo salad together, so I better say that really. Caribbean with the missus or Magaluf with the lads? Caribbean. Again, I’ll get in trouble if I say Magaluf with the lads! Red or white wine? Red wine, but not by much. I’m still getting a taste for them both though. 50-over, t20 or County

Championship? It’s a tough one, because I enjoy playing and watching all three, but T20 is always great fun and obviously I have the team and personal success with it too. Getting runs and wickets in the Championship is always more rewarding though.

Time added on

Who did you support as a boy? I’ve always been a fan of West Ham, my dad’s family is from East London. Best coach you have ever played with? It’s hard to pick one out specifically because they’ve all been good. Alan Richardson has a certain presence about him though, someone you can talk to about stuff outside of cricket. The most nervous when next into bat? Sam Hain is a bit of a panicker. He doesn’t like to sit with anyone, although that could just be because he has no mates. Person to avoid after being dismissed? Oliver HannonDalby is a bit of an angry man, coming off the cricket pitch and on the golf course, too. He’s the one to avoid. One rule you could change? Batsman should be out lbw if the ball hits them outside the line of leg stump. A bowler’s union, I suppose! Three words to describe yourself? House elf badger (because my nickname is Dobby and I’m a cricket badger, apparently). Which TV pundit makes you cringe and which do you really listen to? There aren’t really any who I find too bad, but Shane Warne is particularly good. Maybe that’s because he was a legspinner like me, but he always has something really interesting to say. Do you have any

superstitions? Not really anything to do with my kit, but I always like to brush my teeth right before going out on to the field. I guess it’s the feeling of wanting to be fresh while I’m out there.

Hobbies? Golf, even if I’m not very good, and I’m a big fan of horse racing, too.

Dinner party? Avicii, Noel Gallagher, Stuart MacGill, Shane Warne, and Dimitri Payet.

And finally:

Worst dressed? Laurie Evans – he always dresses far too fancily.

Worst banter? Sam Hain as he nicks other people’s jokes and doesn’t even execute them properly.
