Kleinveldt stays with Northants

RORY Kleinveldt has signed a new one-year contract with T20 Blast winners Northants.

Kleinveldt, 33, has spent two seasons with the side, taking over 80 County Championship wickets, and scoring five half centuries.

The South Africa all-rounder has also starred in the shorter formats, claiming 30 wickets in the T20 Blast across the past two seasons. Northants won this year’s Blast, beating Durham in the final at Edgbaston last month.

He was presented with his county cap by Northants head coach David Ripley last week.

Ripley said: “Rory Kleinveldt is a Steelback to the core, we love having him here.”
