Aussies give Hick greater responsibility
THERE will remain an Englishman Down Under for the next four years after former England batsman Graeme Hick became Australia’s batting coach.
Hick, 50, has been Cricket Australia’s high performance coach since 2013 and his new role will see him stay in the set-up until March 2020.
He played 65 Tests between 1991 and 2001, averaging 31.32, considerably lower than his first-class average of 52.23.
Hick, who will begin his new job before Australia’s Test series against South Africa in November, said: “The opportunity to work with some of the best players in the world is something I am looking forward to.”
