The Last

Bat you bought/used? A Gray-Nicolls Powerbow, it’s got an excellent pick-up and weight which is the main thing for me. Song you listened to? Ed Sheeran is massive at the moment so one of his, Castle On The Hill – everybody seems to love his new album! Five-wicket haul or century? I got a big century, 170, in the first U19 Test match in India in February which was massive for me. George Bartlett and I put on more than 300 together and there’s no better feeling than going out there and doing it for your country, a proud moment for us to share together. Injury? I haven’t had too many thankfully. When I was 15 I broke and disclocated my finger dropping a catch, but I’ve been quite fortunate since then! Trophy you won? Middlesex won the 2nd XI T20, winning the Finals Day at Arundel, adding to what was a massive season allround for the county.

The Jury’s Out

Tea Coffee,or Coffee? undoubtedly – I have to wake have me it upin the and morningmake sureto I function. Beans on toast or pasta? Beans on toast – I’m not the best cook, so I have to go for the easiest dish there is to make! Caribbean with the missus or Magaluf with the lads? It’s gotta be with the lads! The idea of Magaluf sounds really great, you hear some really great stories of what guys get up to there! Red or white wine? Red for sure, it’s better for you apparently, what other reason do you need to drink alcohol? 50-over, T20 or County Championship? County Championship is the best for me, it’s the biggest test of anyone to be able to play in that longer format and it is traditional cricket. It’s my strongest area, too!

Time added on

Who boy? did you support as a I’m thougha big things Arsenal aren’t fan, going even too watchingwell right Northantsnow! I grewand up Middlesexthey’re my – two ironic clubs given now. Best worked coach with? you ever Markof work Ramprakashwith us over did the a lot winter and it was great to be able to work with him. He understands individual games really well and what makes each player achieve. The most nervous when next into bat? I’ve not been in the Northants dressing room too much, but for Middlesex it was Ravi Patel. When the quick bowlers are on, he talks about how he’s going to whack them but he acts completely differently! The person to avoid once they’re dismissed? Probably me! Some of the guys say I’ve got a little bit of a temper, but I’ve known Ryan Higgins to have a little bit of a blow-up sometimes. One cricket rule you could change? You can never get out – I want to bat all day! Three words to describe yourself? Team-player, hardworking, banterous. Which TV pundit makes you cringe and which do you really listen to? I love listening to David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd – he’s really enthusiastic about the game. Bob Willis likes to be a bit critical at times, which is funny, but won’t be nice to be on the wrong end of! Do you have any superstitions? I don’t like odd numbers, so when I’m batting I have to tap my bat down an even number of times before facing a ball. Which five people would you invite round for a dinner party? Alexis Sanchez, Arsène Wenger, Michelle Keegan, Nelson Mandela and James Corden.

And finally

Who is the worst dressed player at the club? Mason Crane, at Hampshire, always wears his cricket gear when going out which is just criminal! No excuses for that!
