Kohli has plenty of flaws...

NOT in the caste sense obviously, but on day two of the third Test between India and Australia, the Indian TV commentato­rs were suggesting that KL Rahul’s extravagan­t drive in the first Test caught at long-off was to blame for India’s batting collapse and defeat.

Did they not see captain Virat Kohli take a wild swipe at his first ball (wide of off-stump) and get out for a golden duck?

Rahul has made a substantia­l contributi­on to India’s scores in this series; not so Kohli, who didn’t play a stroke at a straight ball in one innings and in another reviewed an obvious lbw decision and then left the field before the review was completed.

He has even accused the Australian­s of “crossing the line” over DRS referrals; this from a man who often harasses the umpires when an umpire’s call thwarts his review.
