Aussies go with raw pace

PAT Cummins is one of four pace bowlers in Australia’s 15-man squad for this year’s Champions Trophy.

Cummins, who has made 28 ODI appearances, is selected alongside fellow fast bowlers Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and James Pattinson in captain Steve Smith’s squad.

Cummins has made just three Test appearances but is capable of bowling at speeds in excess of 95mph, and another former Aussie speedster Brett Lee is excited about his inclusion.

Lee said: “What Pat can bring is pace, aggression, control and anything between that. He is a once-in-a-generation bowler and you have got to harness that amazing talent.”
