Bresnan & Co take to the skies for charity
TIM Bresnan will head up a group of former England Test cricketers that will get their thrills by taking part in a tandem skydive.
Bresnan will join Matthew Maynard, Darren Maddy, Owais Shah and 2005 Ashes-winning heroes Geraint Jones and Simon Jones along with event organiser Dean Headley as they aim to raise funds for the Professional Cricketers’ Association Legacy Year Appeal.
The event will take place at Sibson Airport near Peterborough on October 1, with 43 more places available for thrill-seeking cricket fans who wish to fall from the sky alongside some of their heroes.
All proceeds from the event will go to the PCA Legacy Appeal which had been set up to mark the players’ union’s 50th anniversary and raise £250,000 for the PCA Benevolent Fund.
Headley said:“I have a really good relationship with UK Parachuting who support an event I hold in Stamford each year.
“They have been on to me for a while to skydive and my initial thoughts were: are you mad? Then an email came through about the PCA’s 50th year and I thought: if I am going to do it why not do it with some cricketers who I know and, of course, some cricket fans.
“The event will epitomise what cricket and the PCA are and what they stand for which is, quite simply, togetherness.”
