Honest Viratk now show to take defeat, Eoin

-

WHAT a contrast between the captains of England and India in their comments after tasting defeat in the ICC Champions Trophy.

England’s Eoin Morgan complained about the pitch and said that he didn’t have enough time to adjust to it, while India’s Virat Kohli said:“They (Pakistan) made us make those mistakes because of the way they were bowling and the way they applied the pressure in the field as well, and we have no hesitations or shame to admit that we could not play our best game today.”

Kohli may have lost the final but he showed that, as a sportsman, he is very much a winner.

Morgan and his team have a lot to consider in the next two years, not least playing on pitches which are not batsmen friendly, before the next World Cup and perhaps they should look at themselves before apportioning the blame to others. RICHARD DAWSON,
