FOOTBALL
Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal
Sunday, Sky Sports Main Event, 4.15pm
The north London derby is always a highlight of the Premier League calendar, but with both teams scrapping desperately for a place in European competition, there’s more than pride at stake on Sunday. The pick of other paid-for matches includes Sheffield United v
Chelsea (Sat, Sky Main Event, 5.00pm), Arsenal v Liverpool (Wed, Sky Premier League, 8.00pm) and West Ham v Watford (Fri, BT Sport 1, 2.00pm) in a relegation shoot-out.
The free-to-air matches may be less eye-catching, but relegation-threatened Watford v Newcastle (Sat, Amazon, 12.30pm) will be keenly contested, and Wolves continue their push for Europe at home to Everton (Sun, Sky Pick, 11.30am) and then away at Burnley (Wed, BBC Two, 5.30pm). Manchester United v Southampton (Mon, Sky Pick, 7.30pm) is also free to air, as is Manchester City v Bournemouth (Wed, Sky Pick, 5.30pm) as the latter try to halt their tailspin.
Further down the ladder, there are promotions issues at stake in
Brentford v Derby County (Sat, Sky Football, noon) and Swansea City v Leeds United (Sun, Sky Football, 1.00pm), while Wycombe Wanderers could complete one of the more unlikely promotions of recent years by beating Oxford United in the League One play-off final (Mon, 7.30pm Sky Football) at Wembley.
On the day that the government ban on grassroots cricket lifts, England and the West Indies will be approaching the climax of their first Test in Southampton, before reconvening on Thursday for the second at Old Trafford. With Brian Lara questioning the endurance of the tourists, an early finish is a possibility.
