In adapting the memoirs of Chris Kyle, the deadliest marksman in the US Navy Seals, Clint Eastwood has given us a story about the kind of archetypal lone gunman he was once famous for playing: taciturn, but with roiling depths. Bradley Cooper was nominated for an Oscar for his turn as Kyle, a man both haunted and exhilarated by his service in Iraq, while Sienna Miller is also good as his longsuffering wife, Taya Renae.
