Dartmouth for Hardwicke repeat

- RACE-BY-RACE GUIDE Marlborough

NYALETI recorded a smart time when battling hard to win at Salisbury and there is bound to be more to come. Aidan O’brien usually sends a smart juvenile – Churchill won it for him last year – so September, an easy winner of his only start – is respected.

ELBERETH ran a fine race in the Coronation Cup at Epsom last time and the time of the race suggests it was no fluke. This should prove far less demanding.

DARTMOUTH is versatile regarding tactics and a tough performer, who rarely runs a bad race. He can repeat his success of last season. Muntahaa and Second Step appeal most of the remainder.

THE TIN MAN runs this track well and is top class on his day. Tasleet showed marked improvement when he returned to sprinting at York last time and is a real threat if in that sort of form. Limato would be a player at his best but has something to prove.

RAUCOUS had a nice prep when doing all his best work late on at Windsor last month and, in blinkers for the first time, can prevail. Projection is unexposed and open to improvement. Edward Lewis did remarkably well on an unsuitable track at Epsom, he will be far more at home here.

THOMAS HOBSON won comfortably enough here on Tuesday so suggest he can do the double. US Army Ranger is interesting if he stays.
