Aluko alleged in an interview with the BBC last week that she had not had support from her former team-mates. She also claimed their response would have been different had she been the victim of homophobic abuse and suggested they needed to be re-educated when it came to racism and the impact it had on victims.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal why the FA decided not to take any disciplinary action against former goalkeeping coach Lee Kendall, who resigned this week in the aftermath of the Aluko scandal.

Sources have confirmed that Kendall used to greet people with the phrase “wagwan”, which is popular within urban youth culture.
