Rabada lets rip at Warner as rivalry turns nasty
Australia’s spiteful Test series against South Africa turned even more bitter as Kagiso Rabada (above) directed a ferocious celebration at David Warner after dismissing the batsman for 13.
Rabada was already at risk of being banned for the remaining two Tests after bumping into Steve Smith on dismissing him in the first innings. With the decision of a disciplinary hearing on that expected today, the bowler followed up by screaming in Warner’s face as the hosts took a stranglehold on the
match at Port Elizabeth. The 22-year-old, who is ranked No1 in the world, took two more wickets as Australia finished the third day on 180 for five. They led by 41 runs with just five wickets left.
South African officials are also facing an inquiry after posing with fans wearing masks mocking Warner, while the Australia vicecaptain himself was fined 75 per cent of his match fee for an altercation in a stairwell with the hosts’ wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock in the first Test.
